Selmer Paris Series 9 Professional Model Clarinet Circa 1959
This is a lovingly restored, vintage, French-made Selmer Series 9 professional Bb wooden clarinet, serial number R9952. We estimate that it was made in 1959. A great modern professional clarinet well-suited for all band and orchestral playing. Has had a small crack professionally pinned in the upper joint in the past. No cracks. The mechanism is tight. Nickel-plated keys. It has been completely overhauled with new double-skin pads and corks. In a new Protec case with a Larry Combs Woodwind professional mouthpiece and Rovner ligature. Many consider the Series 9 to be among the best clarinets ever made by Selmer, and the quality of wood found in this instrument is unlikely to be found in newer ones. It is a good investment at $1050 plus shipping. Please see the photographs.
Please note:
As professional repair technicians, our labor to completely overhaul a clarinet is approximately $250-$300. When you purchase one of our clarinets, we professionally overhaul it, tightening the mechanism and installing new double-skin pads and corks. While you can purchase as-is instruments for less, it is likely that you will have to invest in an overhaul either before you play them or shortly thereafter. We don’t cut corners with cheaper supplies or patchwork. When you compare our quality, you will understand why we don’t accept lower “make offers” on our instruments.
