Reynolds Professional Wooden Clarinet (Circa 1940s)
The F.A. Reynolds Company was founded in 1936 by Foster A. Reynolds and became well known for high-quality brass instruments. Its clarinet line was manufactured by various makers in the United States and Europe. We offer this truly rare and well-playing Reynolds professional model clarinet # H13415B which our research suggests was made by Penzel Mueller for Reynolds in the 1940’s. It is made of granadilla wood, with .595 bore, raw nickel silver keys. No cracks and the mechanism is tight. It appears to have seen little use. We overhauled it with new corks and double-bladder pads. It comes with its original case, mouthpiece, and accessories. Please see the photographs. $650 plus shipping.
Please note:
As professional repair technicians, our labor to completely overhaul a clarinet is approximately $250-$300. When you purchase one of our clarinets, it has been professionally overhauled with the mechanism tightened, new double skin pads, and new corks. While you can purchase as-is instruments for less, it is likely that you will have to invest in an overhaul either before you play them or shortly thereafter. We don’t cut corners with cheaper supplies or patchwork. When you compare our quality, you will understand why we don’t accept lower “make offers” on our instruments.
