Penzel Mueller Wooden Clarinet Circa 1950s
Penzel Mueller was a fine old American company that operated until the 1950s. Their clarinets were considered among the best U.S.-made instruments, and several professional clarinetists played them, including Woodie Herman. We are offering this Penzel Mueller Bb clarinet. We estimate this #8142B was made in the 1950s. We restored this with new pads and corks. The mechanism is tight, with no cracks. Nickel-plated keys with some plating wear. Comes with a case and original Penzel Mueller hard rubber mouthpiece. $395 plus shipping. Please see the photographs.
Please note:
As professional repair technicians, our labor to completely overhaul a clarinet is approximately $250-$300. When you purchase one of our clarinets, it has been professionally overhauled with the mechanism tightened, new double skin pads, and new corks. While you can purchase as-is instruments for less, you will likely have to invest in an overhaul before playing it or shortly thereafter. We don’t cut corners with cheaper supplies or patchwork. When you compare our quality, you will understand why we don’t accept lower “make offers” on our instruments.
