Henry Pourcelle “A” Clarinet Circa early 1900’s

This interesting old Henry Pourcelle Paris “A” clarinet represents a clarinet imported into the United States by C. Bruno, a prominent musical instrument distributor dating back to 1834. Pourcelle is a trade name used by Bruno. It is a high-quality instrument in the key of “A” and is marked “LP,” or low-pitch, denoting standard pitch. It bears no identifiable serial number. We estimate that it was made in the early 1900’s in Paris. We restored this interesting old clarinet with new double-skin pads and corks. No cracks. Keywork is raw nickel silver. The mechanism is tight.  Has a third-ring key. Comes with Selmer B* mouthpiece and original case. Please see the photos. A bargain for a good-playing clarinet in “A” at $625 plus shipping.

When you purchase one of our clarinets, it has been professionally overhauled with the mechanism tightened, new double skin pads, and new corks. While you can purchase as-is instruments for less, it is likely that you will have to invest in an overhaul either before you play them or shortly thereafter. We don’t cut corners with cheaper supplies or patchwork. When you compare our quality, you will understand why we don’t accept lower “make offers” on our instruments.
