Penzel Mueller was a fine old American company that operated up until the 1950s.Their professional Artist model clarinets were considered among the best U.S. made instruments and several professional clarinetists played them including Woodie Herman. We are offering this Penzel Mueller “Artist” model Bb clarinet. We estimate that this #M1718-B was made in the 1940s. It is engraved U.S.N. indicating its use by the U.S. Navy in World War II. This wonderful old instrument has been lovingly restored with new pads and corks. The mechanism is tight, with no cracks. Silver plated keys. The bore is large (.590). Comes with decent case and Selmer HS *hard rubber mouthpiece. Please see the photographs. Play a piece of history! $650 plus shipping.

Please note:
As professional repair technicians, our labor to completely overhaul a clarinet is approximately $250-$300. When you purchase one of our clarinets, it has been professionally overhauled with the mechanism tightened, new double skin pads, and new corks. While you can purchase as-is instruments for less, it is likely that you will have to invest in an overhaul either after you have purchased them or shortly thereafter. We don’t cut corners with cheaper supplies or patchwork. When you compare our quality, you will understand why we don’t accept lower “make offers” on our instruments.
