Penzel Mueller was a fine old American company that operated up until the 1950s. Their professional Artist model clarinets were considered among the best U.S. made instruments and several professional clarinetists played them including Woodie Herman. We are offering this Penzel Mueller “Artist” model Bb clarinet. We estimate that this #17318 was made in the 1940s. This wonderful old instrument has been lovingly restored with new pads and corks. The mechanism is tight, with no cracks. Raw nickel silver key work. Has had some chipping at the bell ring professionally repaired. The bore is large (.590). In a new Pro-Tec case. Comes with an earlier good hard rubber mouthpiece. $650 plus shipping.
Please note:
As professional repair technicians, our labor to completely overhaul a clarinet is approximately $250-$300. When you purchase one of our clarinets, it has been professionally overhauled with the mechanism tightened, new double skin pads, and new corks. While you can purchase as-is instruments for less, it is likely that you will have to invest in an overhaul either after you have purchased them or shortly thereafter. We don’t cut corners with cheaper supplies or patchwork. When you compare our quality, you will understand why we don’t accept lower “make offers” on our instruments.

Our Shipping Policy:
We endeavor to ship within the Continental United States by UPS Ground if it is going to a street address. United Parcel Service (UPS) will not deliver to a P.O. Box. If it is going to a P.O., Box, it must go USPS Priority Mail and for large boxes that must be used to safely ship musical instruments, the Post Office charges about twice the rate of UPS Ground Service.
