This Martin Committee Alto Saxophone has been overhauled in our shop with new pads, corks, and felts. Not a lot of the old lacquer left. These models are unique in that all keys are solid nickel silver and not plated. One of the toughest Saxophones ever made. Flat metal boosters were installed in the new pads to retain the instrument’s “mellow edge.” During its time, several notable artists played the Committee Alto. No dents and the mechanism is tight. The tone holes are flat. What is left of the old lacquer may have been an earlier relacquer, but the metal is intact. Please see the photographs. Enjoy a great vintage Alto for $825 plus shipping. Comes with a decent older case, older rubber mouthpiece, strap, and reed.

Please note:
As professional repair technicians, our labor to completely overhaul a clarinet is approximately $250-$300. When you purchase one of our clarinets, it has been professionally overhauled with the mechanism tightened, new double skin pads, and new corks. While you can purchase as-is instruments for less, it is likely that you will have to invest in an overhaul either after you have purchased them or shortly thereafter. We don’t cut corners with cheaper supplies or patchwork. When you compare our quality, you will understand why we don’t accept lower “make offers” on our instruments.

Our Shipping Policy:
We endeavor to ship within the Continental United States by UPS Ground if it is going to a street address. United Parcel Service (UPS) will not deliver to a P.O. Box. If it is going to a P.O., Box, it must go USPS Priority Mail and for large boxes that must be used to safely ship musical instruments, the Post Office charges about twice the rate of UPS Ground Service.
